[The look Shun levels Roxas with at that question could probably wither an entire orchard.]

Don't ask stupid questions. Why do you need me to carry you? [Not that he'll turn him down if it's not that good a reason (probably), this just seems kind of...weird.]

I got told to ask people to carry me for a little bit. You're tall, so that means you're strong, right?

[Not that being tall has to do with anything. You gotta flatter people to get things done sometimes.]

That's too simple a way of looking at it. [Regardless of the annoyance in his tone, though, if Roxas was asked to do this then it'd probably be inconvenient to try and palm him off to someone else.

So after a moment of looking him over, Shun sighs, steps forward and moves to dump him rather ungracefully over one shoulder. Even though his shoulder will likely be against his stomach, making the position fairly balanced, he holds him in place with one arm to be sure.]

Don't people have better things to do than make others do ridiculous things like this?

Okay. This wasn't so bad. It's nicer than what he figures Shun would have done. Over shoulder is more comfortable than under the arm.]

Then they need to learn to mind their own business. [Shun takes a few steps forward, then turns before glancing at his potato sack passenger.]

I don't know why the hell you thought I wouldn't be able to carry you. You barely weigh anything.

I've thrown people twice your size and probably five times your weight across rooms. [It's not toned like a boast, it's almost a more exasperated response to what, to him, seems like Roxas' lack of awareness.]

[Honestly, Shun, he's played you like a fiddle.] Where'd you learn to do that?

[The real question is, is it really playing him when this might as well just be a (really easy) addition to his daily workout.] Nowhere specific, and nowhere you need to know about.

Good. [Bending down quickly enough that the landing of feet back on the ground is likely to be a little rough, Shun lets Roxas go.] Still seems ridiculous, but I suppose that short a time at least means you won't be wasting much on it.

[Judging by the way he tenses at the contact, no, Shun did not want a hug, but he manages to restrain himself from his instinct to throw the person off once he recognises who it is.]

...What are you doing? [He sounds somewhere between faintly confused and annoyed.]

Even though Shun can see Amane coming and knows what she's doing, he still tenses up a little at the contact, the reflex too deeply ingrained to stop. This is probably as awkward for her as it is for him, though, so he at least makes a vague attempt to return it, touching his hands briefly to the small of her back.]

Somehow you're not the first person today to think I was a good target for a hug request. [He sounds mildly annoyed, but just in general, not at her.]

Amane hold still for a moment when he returns the hug. Given how sudden this would be to anyone, she haven't count on reciprocation.]

Is that so? [She wonder if that other person have a similiar task as well. Lowering her arms, she pulls herself backward from Shun.] Did they tell you why you're a good target?

[Well, at least there's one thing to be said for the requesters: they haven't yet gotten to the point where they're making people hug for more than the few seconds it takes to really call it a hug. Shun steps away as soon as she pulls back, obviously about as enthusiastic over this as she is.]

No, but considering who it was they probably just wanted someone who wouldn't turn it into a big deal. [Or at least, those are the kinds of people he's been seeking out, and he can't imagine the other person in question is that dissimilar in nature.]

[The less fuss, the better. So they can continue on with their (after)life until the next task.]

Such tasks can ask for a lot, depending on what they are. [Imagine what other tasks are being given out.] ... In any case, giving a hug is all I have to do for the time being.

And the same request can be more for one person than it would be for others. [In particular, whoever asked him to go around and ask people to pick them up was barking up the wrong tree, even if it could've been much worse.]

Sounds like you got off relatively easily. At least, by the standards of whoever's asking people these things.
