But alas. Here they are. Limbs tangled and uncomfortable.]

[If there's a god of boxes in these heavens, Shun is going to maim them as soon as he gets out of here.

Granted, of all the people to be squished into a box with, Ren at least has the advantage of being someone he actually trusts to be in quarters that close with him. On the other hand, it doesn't make trying to contort around him any more of a pleasant experience, and given Shun's already running his hands over the inside of the box to try and find any structural weaknesses, there's definitely going to be some more contorting happening soon enough.

It speaks to the general bizarreness level of this place that Shun looks more exasperated than outright angry about this, and his tone is remarkably neutral despite what he actually says.]

If these things burn, I'm setting fire to the next one I see. [He still needs some catharsis, though.]

[The upside to this is that it's Shun, and Shun is resourceful and stubborn and probably the first person he would pick to be stuck for who knows how long in a tiny box like this. The downside is that with Shun that close and already moving around, it's really hard to concentrate on feeling around the box for a way to get out.

Or to want to, frankly. He wouldn't actually mind just staying put until they're found or the magic wears off on its own. Maybe they could take a nap.

But Shun isn't going to back down that easily, so he might as well help feel around too.]

You mean you haven't had enough of fires to last a lifetime? [Ren lets out a short laugh and leans his head against Shun's shoulder as he feels around behind him.] It's too bad I can't just light it on fire from the inside anymore...

I don't have to be in the middle of this one. [That answer comes quickly enough for Shun not to have even had to think about it. Setting a box on fire is a much different beast to running through a burning temple.

Even so, Shun traces his fingers over somewhere on the box's surface where Ren can see them, and focuses for a moment. The box discolours very slightly in wake of his decay powers, but it takes much longer than it rightfully should, and doesn't seem to want to go any further than that either.]

I'm not sure that would work, anyway. [And with Ren feeling around behind him, Shun feels it's a reasonable enough time to do the same on his end and start feeling around behind Ren.

Unfortunately, he can't quite reach the lowest parts of the box behind Ren. Even more unfortunately, the thing he immediately notices that would give him more space to move is not something that most people would suggest in total seriousness in a situation like this without realising what it sounds like.

Shun is not most people.]

Spread your legs. And move back when you're done checking behind me. [It's obvious enough from Shun's focus past Ren's shoulders that he's trying to get further into the corners of the box, but that doesn't make the request any less questionable.]

[Davesprite is an even more literal person to be tangled with than most, given his tail is kind of awkwardly cramped around Homura's legs. His wings are the bigger personal nightmare, though - they're squashed up hard against the sides of the box to the point he can barely move them.

Unsurprisingly, Davesprite does not look terribly pleased about this development either.]

I mean, I'd suggest either shooting or grenading the box if the most likely outcome didn't look like both of us twice dead and a still standing box.

[Ren hums in disappointment as Shun tries using his power and fails, and he goes back to feeling around without any argument about the usefulness of his own powers. It had been wishful thinking anyway, since he could even use them without Aichi around...

and that's when Shun makes his request. Ren freezes for a moment as he wonders if he actually heard that correctly, and then quickly buries his face in Shun's shoulder to try not to laugh. he has no doubt Shun's intentions are entirely professional, but he's really going to get himself in trouble some day if he's that professional with someone else.

But he is really curious to see where Shun might be going with this, so...]

You got it~ [He spreads his legs as far as they'll go and reaches up to start checking the roof as he leans back against the wall behind him, which just so happens to mean arching his back and exposing his neck quite a bit.] It's too small in here to spread them any more than that. I hope that's enough.

It's fine. [Though Ren's shift in position does draw Shun's attention to the exposed neck for a moment or two. He's not entirely sure what it is about the whole thing that steals his focus, but after a moment he shakes his head slightly and starts moving again.

Even though Ren might only be able to get his legs apart a certain distance, it's still enough for Shun to contort himself a bit and get his legs under him, so he's in more of a kneeling position than a sitting one. That also means he doesn't have his own legs blocking his way forward, so he shifts himself closer to Ren and manages to squeeze his upper half into the space between Ren's torso and the top of the box. It's a pretty tight fit, and he ends up with his head twisted a little into Ren's neck by the end of it, but at least he can feel the other corners of the box now.]

Nothing here, either. [He sighs in annoyance, the breath coming out somewhere in the crook of Ren's neck and shoulder.] We're going to have to wait it out at this rate.

[Ah, well, that isn't exactly where Ren thought he was going to be exploring, but he almost likes it better. At least it isn't quite as distracting as other possibilities might have been, so he can keep up his own search seemingly unaffected... at least until Shun start breathing against his neck and he shivers a little and stops.

Oh well, he was fine with giving up on this quest a while ago anyway.]

You're not going to try punching it? If you do it the right way, you only need a couple inches of space. I saw that in a movie once.

[But that's definitely not a serious suggestion, and soon enough, he carefully drops his arms and lets his hands rest on Shun's legs instead. There aren't many other options of where to put them, after all.]

Are you going to be uncomfortable sitting like that? We can move again if you need to.

[As squished as Shun is against Ren right now, it's difficult not to feel that shiver, and he frowns a little as he glances up to Ren's face as best he can in this position.]

Are you alright? [Though since he does go on to that other point so quickly, Shun figures it's just something minor. While the remark is at least somewhat valid, Shun shakes his head a little.]

I don't think it's going to be that easy, but hold on. [It takes a bit of twisting - which may not be helped by the fact that Shun's still kneeling extremely close to Ren in the tip of the space provided by his legs - but eventually Shun manages to sharply twist his lower half enough to drive a heel into the side of the box, even though it also makes his upper half slip down a little further so his head is closer to the back of Ren's neck rather than the side. His leg is still bent, so it's not at full power, but the sound it makes against the side says it's certainly not weak.

That sound being a loud, muted thud as the box absolutely refuses to give.

Shun lets out a sharper breath, still against Ren's neck, and draws his foot back in. That's about the point where Ren decides to rest his hands on his legs, and though he twitches a little and looks something like surprised for a brief moment, he lets it go. There really aren't that many places to put his hands.

Even so, he takes Ren's next comment as an indication Ren might be uncomfortable as well, and though he shrugs slightly, he does start trying to extricate himself from his position.

Unfortunately, with his hands down behind Ren and having had to centre his weight somewhere to make that kick even moderately successful, he's accidentally slipped himself a little too far to pull himself out of the position in this little space. That additional push forward has essentially jammed his torso between Ren and the top of the box, and though he squirms a little and tries to move back, he can't get enough of a hold to do it now.]

...I wouldn't be so sure about that.

[...Maybe he shouldn't be surprised Shun actually took that suggestion seriously, but he still is a little. Although he's not going about it the right way. Clearly, they need to have a movie night in the future.

He can't be too upset about it, though, or about it not working, because he's much too distracted by how close Shun has gotten in the process and the various ways and places hey're touching. It's definitely a little uncomfortable to be leaning back like this and to have Shun draped over him so awkwardly, and a completely different sort of uncomfortable for him to still be breathing against his neck like that. And it's completely unfair that Shun doesn't even seem to care.

It still seems like Shun is going to be the one feeling the most uncomfortable if they stay like this, though, so Ren tries wiggling a little himself and pushing up on on Shun's arms and chest to see how much of Shun's weight is really leaning on him.]

Maybe if I help you get your balance and you try scooting under me... [Ah, that's no good, he's starting to sound deeper and out of breath. Not that that's much different than how he sounds half the time while they're sparring.]

[The position of Shun's face probably isn't helping any perceptions that he doesn't care at all about the situation, because it makes it very difficult to actually see what faces he's making. In particular, the one he makes when Ren starts wriggling himself, which is surprised for a moment before moving into something that looks more like he's trying to restrain his embarrassment over having gotten himself into this position in the first place. Or maybe something else, but like hell Shun can tell the difference.

One thing Ren will get, though, is the quiet, sharp hiss against his neck at the motion, not unlike the kind of reaction one might give to a minor injury, even if the only thing being particularly injured right now is Shun's pride.

The attempt to push up against his arms and chest will probably demonstrate the problem immediately - the vast majority of Shun's weight is on Ren now because of how he shifted it for that kick. Though Shun's clearly shifting himself and trying to move somewhere he's not leaning on him so hard, he can't manage it like this.]

That's easier said than done. [And...while Shun's definitely heard that tone from Ren before during sparring, this definitely isn't sparring. While it might not be cause for concern so much, then, Shun's head definitely turns a bit further into Ren's neck as he tries to get any kind of look at his face.] And you already sound like you're having trouble with something.

[At least when Ren hears him make that sound, he stops moving, just in case he really did do something to hurt him. He's not sure what he could have done in this position to hurt him...but obviously what he'd been doing had been uncomfortable somehow. He's getting a little uncomfortable himself from that wiggling anyway.

Unfortunately, he does seem to be right that this is easier said than done. He's completely off balance, and there's barely any room to maneuver in here...even if he did manage to push Shun off, he'd just be pushing him into the roof, and trying to move his arms is just going to throw him more off balance--

He makes a faintly surprised noise of his own as Shun's face ends up pressed even more against his neck and just stops moving entirely. He should have known Shun would pick up on that. The question here is how honest he should be about what the trouble is exactly...]

It's just that having you this close is making it difficult to concentrate on anything but you. Especially when you're saying things like "spread your legs"...

[...and is that blunt enough for him to get it.]
